Call for Presenters: 2025 Wisconsin Association of the Deaf (WAD) Conference
The Wisconsin Association of the Deaf (WAD) is excited to announce the 2025 WAD Conference and invites dynamic presenters to share their expertise with our community. This conference will bring together members of the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Deaf Blind and signing communities for an engaging and educational experience.
**Date June 13-14, 2025: **
Location: Oak Creek, WI

We are seeking presentations in the following areas of special interest:

Health: Topics may include mental health, physical wellness, accessible healthcare, medication management, substance abuse, and health advocacy.

Education: Topics may include language acquisition, interpreting ethics, inclusive practices, and addressing disparities in educational outcomes.
-
General Knowledge: Topics may include technology, history, use of AI, etc.
-
Leadership/Advocacy: leadership development, cultural awareness, legislative advocacy, and social justice.
-
Aging: Topics may include caregiving, navigating life transitions, elder care resources, and promoting independence among Deaf seniors.
Presentation Format:

Workshops (90 minutes)
-
Panels (90 minutes)
-
Keynote Presentations (30-45 minutes)
-
Interactive Sessions (30 minutes)
Guidelines for Submission: Please submit the following information by Feb 1st, 2025:

Presenter(s) name(s), contact information, and short biography.

Title of presentation.
-
Presentation abstract (250-500 words).
-
Learning objectives (minimum of three).
-
Preferred format (workshop, panel, keynote, etc.).
-
Accessibility needs (e.g., ASL interpretation, CART services).
Submission Process: All submissions should be filled out on google form. If you prefer not to use google form, please email the submission information to conference@wisdeaf.org

Selection Criteria: Proposals will be evaluated based on relevance to the Deaf community, innovation, clarity, and alignment with the current trends and areas of interest. Selected presenters will be notified by February 10, 2025
